Rearview Mirror Restoration

Can it be saved?


I covered the glass with two layers of Scotch brand heavy duty packing tape to prevent damage when blasting the rust with aluminum oxide grit.

The following paints were used. They are available in economical, large spray cans:

• 2 coats of Dupli-Color, DAP1692 Primer
• 2 coats of Dupli-Color, T177 Gunmetal Gray Lacquer
• 3 coats of Dupli-Color, DAL1695 Acrylic Lacquer Clear
  

The sunvisor mounts were painted using the same method and materials.
